🧩 About the Role

Toptal is seeking a strategic, data-driven, and people-focused Community Program Manager to lead and scale initiatives that connect, engage, and retain the top 3% of freelance talent in our global network.

You will be responsible for owning, refining, and launching community programs that drive value for talent while aligning with Toptal’s business objectives. From leading mentorship and learning programs to managing Slack communities and talent recognition initiatives, you will play a crucial role in shaping the experience of 10,000+ professionals across 100+ countries.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility remote position with cross-functional collaboration across Talent Success, Marketing, Operations, and more.

💼 Key Responsibilities

Own and operate end-to-end community programs (e.g., Mentorship, Community Leaders, Learning Access, and Recognition).
Analyze and optimize program ROI, ensuring a data-driven approach to decision-making and impact measurement.

Serve as the main operator and strategist behind our Slack talent community, creating meaningful engagement at scale.
Partner with internal stakeholders to align community initiatives with company goals, including talent retention and quality.
Identify new opportunities for community-driven innovation through feedback, engagement analytics, and member insights.
Collaborate with external partners and platforms (e.g., Udemy, Slack) to manage and enhance service delivery.
Regularly evaluate and improve operational workflows, tooling, and budget allocation for community programs.

📈 Role Progression

In your first month, you will:

Onboard into Toptal’s culture, teams, and community initiatives.
Begin managing ongoing programs and forming key internal and talent relationships.

By 3 months, you will:

Propose enhancements to existing programs and operational systems.
Launch at least one initiative that directly improves engagement or retention.

By 6–12 months, you will:

Fully own the community success strategy.
Scale high-impact programs globally with measurable results tied to business KPIs.
Be recognized as the go-to community leader within Toptal’s talent network.

✅ Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
3+ years of experience in community or program management roles.
1+ year of people or team leadership experience.
Proven ability to build, scale, and evaluate successful programs with multiple stakeholders.
Strong analytical mindset – comfortable using data to drive decisions, measure ROI, and report on KPIs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with global or remote communities is a major plus.
Passion for connecting people and improving their professional experience.
Strong self-motivation, autonomy, and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
