🧑‍💻 About the Opportunity

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building the platforms and systems that power MoonPay’s core products. You’ll work in a small squad (4–6 engineers) alongside a Product Manager and Data Analyst, within fast-moving teams focused on areas like:

Crypto
NFTs
Payments
KYC (Know Your Customer)
Core infrastructure

This role is remote and available to candidates based in the UK, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Portugal, or Romania. (Note: MoonPay does not support B2B contracting arrangements.)

Architect, build, and maintain backend services and APIs
Collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional teams
Estimate, plan, and deliver features from concept to deployment
Integrate third-party tools and external APIs

🧠 What We’re Looking For

5+ years of experience as a backend engineer, ideally in fast-paced startups or tech environments
Proficient in server-side architecture, APIs, and cloud-native services
Strong understanding of databases, systems design, and best practices
Experience with Google Cloud Platform, or similar (AWS, Azure)
Tech stack knowledge or willingness to learn:

Languages/Frameworks:
- TypeScript
- Node.js
- React / Next.js (for collaboration with frontend)
Tools/Libraries:
- TypeORM, TypeDI, TypeGraphQL
- Routing-controllers
- Redis, Postgres, Bull (job queue)
- DataDog (monitoring), GitHub, Jest
Bonus points if you:
- Contribute to open-source projects
- Have experience working with Web3 technologies
