About the Nurse Extern Float Pool Position

As a Nurse Extern in the Float Pool, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care by assisting nursing staff with essential daily care duties. You’ll work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic patient care tasks such as hygiene support and mobility assistance

  • Support clinical teams with patient monitoring and safety

  • Maintain a sterile, hazard-free patient care area

  • Execute delegated tasks in line with your training and department needs

Nurse Extern Job Requirements

To be considered for this PRN Nurse Extern position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program

  • Successfully completed foundations/fundamentals of nursing course

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – must be obtained within 30 days of hire
