About the Role:

Zaner-Bloser is seeking a Freelance Text Editor to support the development of engaging, age-appropriate decodable and uncontrolled literary and informational texts for its Superkids K–2 Reading Program. This is a full-time, remote, freelance opportunity with a duration of 12+ months, ideal for experienced education editors who are passionate about children’s literacy, diversity, and phonics-aligned instruction.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of editorial experience in K–2 educational publishing.

  • Strong writing/editing background in children’s literary and informational texts, especially decodable content.

  • Understanding of early elementary reading instruction, phonics integration, and grade-level readability.

  • Project coordination experience and the ability to work with writers, illustrators, and production teams.

  • Familiarity with designing visually supportive and diverse texts for young readers.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
