Toptal is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial General Manager – Health & Life Sciences (HLS) Staffing to build and lead a brand-new business line focused on delivering highly specialized talent across the healthcare and life sciences ecosystem.

You will develop this offering from the ground up, using Toptal’s global reach, world-class talent network, and remote infrastructure to meet growing industry demand. 💼 Key Responsibilities

As General Manager of HLS Staffing at Toptal, you will:

Own the full P&L and lead all strategy, execution, and operations for the HLS staffing vertical.
Build a complete go-to-market (GTM) strategy, define business models, pricing, and value propositions.

Pilot one or two industry functions (e.g., clinical operations, biotech R&D, healthcare IT), validate product-market fit, and scale to profitability.
Drive revenue growth, margin optimization, and client satisfaction KPIs.
Analyze the competitive landscape, identify trends in healthcare staffing, and spot opportunities to differentiate and dominate.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Talent Operations to support execution.
Hire, develop, and lead a high-performance team as you scale.
Serve as the client-facing executive advisor, fostering trust and driving consultative relationships with C-suite stakeholders in healthcare and life sciences.

📌 Qualifications

✅ Required:

Bachelor’s degree (Business, Engineering, or Healthcare Administration).
10+ years of experience in building, scaling, or leading a staffing or workforce solutions business.
At least 3 years of direct P&L ownership.
Proven success managing complex client relationships in healthcare, biotech, pharma, or medtech industries.
Hands-on experience launching new business units or products from scratch.
Familiarity with modern CRMs, automation platforms, and analytics tools.
Strong business and financial acumen with data-driven decision-making.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
