Database Analyst Expert – Remote

We are looking for a Database Analyst Expert to lead the data team for the DMDC Enterprise Law Enforcement Support Services (ELEs2) program. This is a remote position where you will oversee database management systems and ensure optimal performance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and execute database backup and recovery strategies.

Manage database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backups, restores, and refreshes.

Monitor database health and respond to alerts from monitoring tools.

Optimize database performance and ensure high availability.

Liaise with database vendors for technical support as needed.

Support production, disaster recovery (DR), and test environments.

Maintain database security and compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.
-
Develop and troubleshoot shell scripts related to database administration.
-
Prepare monthly database storage utilization and capacity planning reports.
-
Perform data quality analysis and resolve data integrity issues.
-
Mentor and train junior database administrators.
-
Provide on-call database administration support.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
-
Extensive experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
-
Proficient in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server environments.
-
Experience with database replication technologies such as ASM, RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, SymmetricDS, or GRID.
-
Skilled in high availability database administration.
-
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning capabilities.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
-
12+ years of experience installing, administering, and maintaining DBMS software.
-
Oracle Database Certified Professional (OCP) or similar platform certification.
-
One IAT Level III certification (e.g., CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH).
-
Active TS/SCI security clearance.
