Status: Full-Time
Shift: 12-Hour Day Shift
Hours Per Week: 36
Location: Remote (Must be licensed in Kansas or have a multistate license)

About the Role:

We’re looking for a dedicated Virtual Medical-Surgical Nurse to join our remote care team. In this role, you’ll provide nursing support to patients experiencing a range of acute and chronic conditions—from cardiac and oncology to post-surgical and end-of-life care. You’ll work virtually, supporting patients age 12 and up, collaborating with providers, and using technology to stay ahead of any signs of health deterioration.

This role combines traditional med-surg nursing with innovative, virtual tools to offer high-quality care from a distance. You’ll be helping patients, guiding care plans, and supporting recovery—all without stepping into a patient room.

What You’ll Be Doing:

What We’re Looking For:

Education:

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Active RN license with Kansas privileges or multistate license required.

  • BLS required (CPR, ACLS, or RQI may also be accepted depending on department needs).

Skills & Strengths:

  • Strong communication skills—verbal, non-verbal, and written.

  • Solid clinical judgment and critical thinking.

  • Knowledge of legal, safety, and ethical nursing practices.

  • Ability to handle basic to advanced medication calculations.

  • Comfortable using tech platforms to track care plans and monitor patients.

Remote Work Requirements:

  • A quiet, secure workspace that protects patient privacy.

  • Reliable electricity and internet (at least 25 Mbps upload speed).

  • Full focus on work during assigned hours.

  • Must follow Stormont Vail’s Remote Work Agreement and attendance expectations.

Physical & Environmental Details:

While this role is remote, you may occasionally need to perform tasks that require physical movement, such as lifting or sitting for extended periods. Full physical and environmental expectations are outlined internally and discussed during the interview process.
