Are you a registered nurse with a strong clinical background and a passion for making a meaningful impact behind the scenes? At Symetra, we’re looking for a Remote Disability Nurse Consultant to support our Life, Absence, and Disability (LAD) products.

In this role, you’ll apply your clinical expertise to review medical records, consult with providers, and help our claims teams make informed, compassionate decisions.

🔍 What You’ll Do:

Conduct in-depth clinical reviews of medical documentation to validate diagnoses and assess restrictions or limitations

Collaborate with healthcare providers to gather additional information that supports thoughtful, evidence-based claim decisions
Work within departmental performance standards for accuracy, documentation quality, and timeliness
Educate and guide claims professionals on anatomy, treatments, and medical conditions relevant to disability case management
Support continuous improvement through training, knowledge sharing, and process innovation

🧠 What We’re Looking For:

Active RN license (multi-state preferred)
Nursing degree from an accredited program
2+ years of clinical experience in an acute care setting (required)
Background in occupational health, psychiatric nursing, or disability/absence management is a plus
Case management or rehab certification (preferred)
Clear, professional communication skills – written and verbal
Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Organized, self-directed, and comfortable balancing priorities in a remote, fast-paced setting
