🔍 About the Role

We’re looking for a Remote Cybersecurity Operational Technology (OT) Specialist to join our dynamic engineering and cybersecurity team. In this role, you’ll consult on the secure design, testing, and implementation of Industrial Control System (ICS) cybersecurity measures. You’ll assess critical infrastructure risks, integrate technical solutions, and help clients meet compliance requirements such as RMF, NIST 800-53, and UFGS 25 05 11.

This is a remote-first role with minimal travel (~10%) to client sites—primarily in the Mid-Atlantic/Eastern U.S. Candidates located in GA, MD, NC, PA, or VA are strongly encouraged to apply.

🧠 What You’ll Do

  • Conduct cybersecurity assessments of ICS/OT environments for critical infrastructure.

  • Analyze and secure ICS networks, systems, and software.

  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nessus, STIG Viewer, SCAP Tool).

  • Design and configure OT networks, servers, switches, and endpoints.

  • Draft and implement technical controls aligned with NERC CIP and NIST 800-53.

  • Support system hardening, patching, and vulnerability management.

  • Prepare and deliver technical documentation and reports.

  • Engage cross-functional stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and facility operators.

  • Contribute to the creation of company-wide best practices and processes.

âś… Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in ICS/OT cybersecurity or control system engineering.

  • IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, GICSP) – Required

  • Experience with:

    • Designing and programming control system devices

    • RMF processes and NIST 800-53 standards

    • UFGS 25 05 11 guidelines

    • Configuration of servers, switches, and OT workstations

    • Cybersecurity tools: Wireshark, Nessus, STIG Viewer, SCAP Tool

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to travel (~10%) as needed to client sites.

  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance

  • IAT Level III certification (CISSP or equivalent)

  • Certifications in:

    • Cisco, Juniper, Moxa, or similar network switches

    • Windows Server, Active Directory

    • Linux Operating Systems

🧱 Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk uneven construction sites, climb ladders/stairs, carry 25 lbs.

  • Work in indoor/outdoor and confined environments, including dusty or extreme weather conditions.

  • Must comply with site PPE and safety regulations at all times.
