🧠 About the Role
We’re looking for a Remote Underwriter who brings a sharp analytical mind, strong judgment, and health plan experience to our high-growth team. You’ll help evaluate and price Comfort, our proprietary level-funded health insurance product, ensuring our offerings are competitive, accurate, and financially sound.
This role blends technical underwriting, strategic input, and cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Account Management, and Product teams — all while working from anywhere.

🎯 What You’ll Do
-
Evaluate risk and price level-funded medical plans using Gravie’s proprietary underwriting tools
-
Analyze claims data, group demographics, and utilization trends to build pricing proposals
-
Own end-to-end underwriting of new and renewal group cases within set authority limits
-
Recommend plan designs and pricing strategies aligned with customer needs and market dynamics
-
Partner with Sales and Client Teams to communicate quote strategies and improve win rates

Ensure compliance, documentation integrity, and underwriting accuracy

Contribute to internal training, process improvement, and tool enhancements
✅ What We’re Looking For

3–5 years of underwriting experience in health insurance, including 1–2 years in stop-loss or level-funded plans

Strong understanding of risk assessment, pricing principles, and funding arrangements

Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field

Ability to confidently communicate insights and collaborate with cross-functional teams
-
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities in a remote setup
