🧩 About the Role

GovCIO is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support operational and integration efforts for multi-vendor IT infrastructure and cybersecurity systems. You’ll work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment, supporting U.S. Government, NATO, and foreign military partners with cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions.

This role requires deep knowledge of Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO), network security architecture, and integration of cyber tools in enterprise systems. You’ll serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and lead deployments, security monitoring, and system hardening while collaborating with global teams.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

Analyze and correlate threat intelligence to profile cyber adversaries and assess risks to critical networks.
Design, test, and implement cybersecurity architecture with a focus on optimal sensor/agent deployment.
Manage and integrate cybersecurity tools such as:
- Gigamon or similar for packet forwarding/deduplication
- Trellix/FireEye/McAfee for HIPS, SIEM, heuristic scanning
Perform traffic analysis, packet inspection, and validation of cybersecurity tool effectiveness.
Develop and maintain integration plans and installation documentation.
Support operations in Security Operations Centers (SOCs), NOCs, or Cybersecurity Operations Centers (CSOCs).

📌 Required Qualifications

Active Secret or NATO Secret Clearance
Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written)
U.S. Passport and willingness to travel internationally (40%)
9+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network engineering, or cyber threat operations
Experience supporting U.S. Government, NATO, or foreign military clients
Proficiency in cybersecurity platforms, architecture design, and defensive operations
Hands-on experience with data center hardware, cabling, and physical installation
Familiar with tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or AutoCAD
Strong knowledge of endpoint security, DLP, vulnerability management, and network defense
Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security, etc.)
CCNP Security/SCORE or CCNP CyberOps certification

🎓 Preferred Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
Experience in military cyber/comms/IT roles (Signal, Communications, or IT MOS)
Additional certifications:
- JNCIS-SEC / JNCIP-SEC
- PCNSA / PCNSE
- GIAC / GSEC
- VMware, Linux, MCSA, or Cloud Security
Hands-on experience with SIEM tools, forensic analysis, and intrusion detection systems
