At Axos Bank, we’re on the hunt for an Assistant Vice President of Internal Audit who’s eager to dig deep, think independently, and play a key role in ensuring our risk and control environments are rock solid.

You’ll help lead internal audits, provide strategic recommendations, and support special projects—all while partnering with a smart, collaborative team that thrives on innovation and integrity.

What You’ll Be Doing

✅ Lead and execute various audits—from risk assessments to final reporting
✅ Identify, test, and assess internal controls
✅ Develop and present clear, actionable audit findings
✅ Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance testing
✅ Help teams close the loop on audit recommendations and risk mitigation
✅ Partner with management to improve internal processes
✅ Serve as a liaison during regulatory exams
✅ Coach and mentor junior auditors
✅ Jump in on special reviews and investigations when needed

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 4+ years of experience in audit or finance (banking/financial services preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Bonus points for: CIA, CISA, or MBA

Preferred:

  • CPA certification

  • Experience with SOX audits

  • Previous work at a Big 4 firm

  • Familiarity with banking/financial regulations (e.g., Reg CC, Reg E, AML, UDAAP, RESPA, etc.)
