🩺 Role Overview: Remote Staff Physician

Vida Health is seeking a board-certified MD or DO to provide virtual medical care, clinical oversight, and mentorship. This role is ideal for a physician with a passion for obesity management, chronic condition treatment, and digital-first care delivery.

You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping clinical outcomes through both direct patient care and the mentorship of clinical staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards, protocols, and innovative care practices.

🧑‍⚕️ Key Responsibilities

👨‍⚕️ Clinical Care Delivery (80%)

Prescribe, manage, and monitor treatment plans via telehealth in accordance with medical standards and protocols.
Order, interpret, and explain diagnostic lab tests.
Prescribe medications and educate patients about their risks, benefits, and expectations.
Provide empathetic, stigma-free care with a focus on obesity and related chronic conditions.

🩺 Clinical Oversight and Mentorship (20%)

Supervise, mentor, and provide real-time guidance to Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Medical Assistants.
Support hiring, onboarding, and training of clinical team members.
Create training materials and conduct clinical audits.
Ensure compliance with Vida and client protocols.

🎯 Qualifications

MD or DO with an active, unrestricted license in 15–20+ U.S. states (if close, you’re still encouraged to apply).
Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (other specialties considered).
Must be willing to obtain certification from the American Board of Obesity Medicine (paid by Vida).
At least 3+ years of clinical experience, preferably with obesity, diabetes, CHF, COPD, or chronic care.
Prior experience mentoring or supervising clinical staff.
Availability to cover at least 3 critical outreach shifts/week, including weekends and early or late shifts.
Experience in integrated care, digital healthcare, or virtual platforms preferred.
Strong EMR proficiency and organizational skills.
Excellent communication, empathy, and team leadership qualities.
